Jon Shackett
Owner & Head Brewer
Jon grew up and resides in Bristol, New Hampshire. A graduate of St. Paul’s School, and Plymouth State College, Jon became a Biology teacher upon earning his degree. He has taught at Cardigan Mountain School in Canaan, New Hampshire, Williams Junior High in Oakland, Maine, Newfound Memorial Middle School in Bristol, New Hampshire, and New Hampton School in New Hampton, New Hampshire.
An avid home brewer since 1992, he decided to open Shackett’s Brewing Company, a one barrel nano brewery in 2014. In 2018, Jon retired from teaching after 25 years, expanded his system to 3 barrels, and moved the business to its current location in Bristol’s Central Square.
When not at work, Jon enjoys hiking, woodworking, gardening, baking bread, and spending time with his granddaughter.
